Georgia has requested loan financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD” or “the Bank”) for the benefit of Tbilisi City Municipality (“the City”) to introduce electric buses to the City’s fleet. The proposed project, with total estimated cost of EUR 40 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:

  • New low-floor electric buses (12m length), associated charging infrastructure and related services

Open tendering for the above is expected to commence in Q2 2019. The contract is expected to be signed in Q4 2019 subject to successful tendering and confirmation of Bank’s financing.

The tender will be carried out in accordance with the EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules (Rev. November 2017), which can be found at https://www.ebrd.com/work-with-us/procurement/policies-and-rules.html.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
