EBRD appoints Jacqui Powell Managing Director for Corporate Sector

New Head of Corporate Sector will assume post on 6 July

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has appointed Jacqui Powell Managing Director for the Corporate Sector with effect from 6 July.

Ms Powell will be based at the Bank’s London headquarters, where she will be responsible for leading the Corporate Sector Business Group and driving delivery of the Bank’s strategy across the various sector teams.

She will also play a key role in strengthening client relationships and expanding the EBRD’s capacity on the ground across the Bank’s regions.

Throughout her career, Ms Powell has led complex, multi‑region businesses with responsibility for strategy execution, performance management and regulatory engagement. She has a strong track record of delivering commercial growth and strengthening governance and control frameworks.

A dual citizen of New Zealand and Australia, Ms Powell brings almost three decades of international banking experience across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

She recently served as General Manager, International for Westpac Institutional Bank, Westpac Group, where she led the bank’s businesses across the United Kingdom, Europe, the Americas and Asia. Prior to this, Ms Powell was based in Sydney, where she held several senior leadership roles at Westpac.

The EBRD’s First Vice President, Greg Guyett, said: “I am delighted to welcome Jacqui to the team.
