Keeping Khmelnytskyi clean and resilient

Khmelnytskyi is home to around 325,000 people and has welcomed tens of thousands of internally displaced Ukrainians since the start of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

With support from the European Union (EU) and Sweden, the EBRD is helping the city modernise its waste-management infrastructure, including a new leachate treatment facility that helps reduce environmental risks and improve local services.

At the heart of the project are people working every day to keep the city functioning.
