The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is organising its first business forum for the southern and eastern Mediterranean (SEMED) region. The forum “Unleashing the Potential” covers the economies of Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia and will take place in Skhirat, Morocco, on 4 November 2015.
The event will be held under the auspices of the Moroccan Ministry of Economy and Finances and in cooperation with the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM).
The Forum will gather key policy-makers, government officials, investors and leading business people to discuss investment opportunities and business prospects across the region.
EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti will open the event together with the EBRD Governor for Morocco, Minister Mohammed Boussaid, and CGEM President Meriem Bensalah Chaqroun. Joining the President and Minister Boussaid in a panel discussion will be Dr Sahar Nasr, Minister of International Cooperation of Egypt; Imad Naijib Fakhoury, Minister of Planning & International Cooperation of Jordan; and Amel Azzouz, State Secretary for International Cooperation, Ministry of Investment, Development and International Cooperation, Tunisia.
Four interactive working sessions will then bring together executives from the public and private sectors to explore the challenges and opportunities in four key areas for the region: agribusiness, industry, infrastructure and sustainable energy.
