Greener and more inclusive buses in Georgia

Author: Rodrigo Juarez

Women bus drivers in Georgia face harmful gender stereotypes and suffer from less access to work.

This year marks a significant milestone for Georgia with the welcoming of Batumi's first female bus driver and a brand new electric bus fleet. “Many people said that I wouldn’t be able to do the job, and I did everything to break that stereotype,” says Lia.

This EBRD Green Cities project is supported by the European Union and the E5P Fund. Together, we're promoting gender equality and driving sustainable development forward.
