Send us your photos of how you keep your #EBRDcity green
Cities the world over account for up to 70 per cent of energy use and 80 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions.
Urban population centres face many climate change challenges, including air pollution, traffic congestion and inefficient waste management and water systems.
The EBRD is playing an active role in tackling these problems through our new Green Cities Programme as part of our municipal infrastructure investments and in the framework of our overall Green Economy Transition approach. We’re already making a difference in Belgrade, Chișinău, Sarajevo, Yerevan, Tbilisi to mention but a few.
With the support of partners – EBRD donors, municipalities and businesses – we are investing in projects to improve people’s lives in cities across our regions. Projects include the creation of more efficient public transport systems, better waste and water management, improved district heating supplies, energy efficiency in residential and public buildings and many more activities.
We now invite you to share with us your photos showing how green your city is and how you personally make your city green.
For instance, do you have an electric car or are you a commuter? Do you walk or cycle to work? Do you grow your own fruit and vegetables? Or is today simply a lovely spring day in your city and you would like to share a photograph of it with us?
Simply post your photo using the hashtags #GreenCity #EBRDcity, and/or #EBRDgreen and tag us on Instagram (@ebrd_official), Facebook or Twitter (@EBRD).
We will repost the best photos on our official EBRD channels (and display the best ones on ebrd.com).
We will give preference to photos from the countries where we invest but are also interested in images from elsewhere.
