His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales has attended a dinner of the Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at Mansion House in London on the eve of the EBRD’s 25th Annual Meeting.
In the picture above he is seen with EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti.
The Prince of Wales formally opened the EBRD’s headquarters in Exchange Square in the City of London in 1993.
The EBRD was created in 1991 in order to support the development of market economies initially in the post-communist states of central and eastern Europe.
Since its creation the EBRD has extended its geographic remit and now promotes positive change and economic modernisation in 36 countries.
The Bank puts a major emphasis on supporting the fight against climate change. It provides significant support for energy efficiency projects and the sustainable development of renewable sources of energy in regions where energy intensity remains a challenge.
