Funding Details
The above named client intends to apply for a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD” or the “Bank”) and a concessional financing from Clean Technology Fund (CTF) to finance the project for the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant as well as dual sewage and stormwater networks to serve the Dikili District.
Additional financing information: A sub-sovereign EBRD loan of up to EUR 61 million, accompanied by a concessional financing from Clean Technology Fund of up to EUR 5 million, guaranteed by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, and a TC grant of EUR 0.7 million from the EBRD Shareholders Special Fund.
Information on the Project
The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 66 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following works and services:
Construction works of a 41,400 m3/day capacity wastewater treatment plant with an Advanced Biological Activated Sludge Process, Uv Disinfection, Odor Removal and Solar Sludge Drying to meet the demand until 2043 in Dikili district of Izmir province in Turkey,
Renewal works of the existing sewerage system, which has completed its operational life and does not meet the sanitary conditions,
Construction works of sewerage systems of additional areas,
Construction works of storm water network and necessary pumping stations to meet the needs until 2053,
Consultancy services for PIU Monitoring support and Corporate Development Programme.
Procurement of the above contracts is expected to begin in the first half of 2025.
Other Information
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of the Bank’s loan and grants administered by the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.
The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
