We draw on three decades of regional knowledge and financial expertise to tailor our products and approaches to each client's needs.
In February 2023 a series of violent earthquakes struck southern and central Türkiye and northern and western Syria, resulting in widespread damage and fatalities across the region.
In the weeks following the earthquakes, the EBRD announced a comprehensive response package worth €1.5 billion. The package includes credit lines to individuals and companies affected by the earthquakes, as well as infrastructure investments and support for small and medium-sized enterprises and private-sector partnerships.
The Bank also aims to develop technical cooperation projects with municipalities, local community-based organisations and service providers for an inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable reconstruction phase.
These projects focus on three main areas:
We currently have two projects supporting CSOs operating in the affected regions. One project is assisting with the digital transformation of CSOs, while the other is promoting greater integration of refugees and local women into the economy.
