Governance
The EBRD Alumni Association is a Bank-led strategic engagement platform. It supports the Bank's strategic objectives by maintaining relationships with former staff and facilitating opportunities to draw on alumni expertise, experience, professional networks and perspectives in support of the Bank's priorities and activities.
Overall responsibility for the Association rests with the Managing Director, Communications, while its activities, services and engagement programme are managed by the Alumni Association Coordinator, who reports to the Head of Editorial and Creative, Communications.
The Association is supported by a Chair, an honorary appointee of the President of the EBRD drawn from the alumni community. The Chair serves as a representative voice for alumni and fosters dialogue between alumni and the Bank, while responsibility for the management and operation of the Association rests with the Bank. The Chair brings matters important to the alumni community, including medical, retirement and other post-employment issues, to the attention of the Bank and helps facilitate constructive engagement between alumni and the institution.
The Chair is advised by an Advisory Committee comprising alumni members selected through a self-nomination process and appointed by the Chair. The Committee is an informal consultative body that provides advice, perspectives and suggestions to the Chair on matters relevant to alumni engagement and the alumni community. The Committee is not a Bank body, its members are not appointed by the Bank, and it has no responsibility for the management, governance or operation of the Association.
This framework ensures that the Association remains institutionally managed by the Bank, while providing established channels through which alumni perspectives, concerns and opportunities can be shared with the institution.
