Maya Hennerkes

Before taking on this role, Ms Hennerkes was Director of Green Financial Systems in the Bank’s Climate Strategy and Delivery team. She played a leading role in the development of the EBRD’s approaches to Paris alignment and the green economy transition and oversaw major initiatives in green capital markets, regulatory policy engagement and delivery of the Bank’s green economy transition strategy.

Ms Hennerkes joined the EBRD in 2019 after senior positions at the Inter-American Development Bank and IDB Invest, where she gained extensive experience in environmental and social risk management, sustainability policy and accountability mechanisms.

A German national, Ms Hennerkes has more than 15 years of experience in sustainable finance, environmental and social governance and green policy development, with a focus on emerging markets.
