Greg Guyett

First Vice President and Head of Client Services Group

Greg Guyett is the EBRD’s First Vice President and Head of its Client Services Group, which encompasses the Banking and Policy and Partnerships departments.

Mr Guyett joined the Bank in September 2025, and has overall responsibility for implementing the EBRD's Banking and Policy objectives, ensuring that investments, policy engagement, and advisory services deliver the maximum transition impact in the economies where the EBRD works.

Prior to joining the EBRD, Mr Guyett was part of the leadership at HSBC Holdings plc, serving as Chair of the Strategic Clients Group since January 2025. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of Global Banking & Markets and served on the Group Executive Committee. Before joining HSBC in 2018, Mr Guyett was President and Chief Operating Officer of East West Bank, a Los Angeles-based institution focused on the US and China.

Mr Guyett established his career as an investment banker at J.P. Morgan, where he spent close to 30 years and went on to hold leadership positions, including Chief Executive Officer, Global Corporate Bank in the UK, Chief Executive Officer, Greater China, based in Shanghai, and the Chief Executive Officer, Japan. He left J.P. Morgan in 2015 after serving as Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific, from Hong Kong, responsible for investment banking coverage, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets across the region.

Mr Guyett is a US National and holds a BA degree in Art and Archaeology from Princeton University.
