Even before the start of the conflict in the Middle East, the economies in the EBRD regions were facing a difficult external environment and weak momentum in manufacturing amidst rising global trade tensions.
As energy prices rose sharply, the wedge between gas prices in Europe and those in the United States widened further, weighing on European competitiveness, and inflation started rising again.
