We are connecting dozens of rural communities in Fayoum to modern sanitation networks, bringing cleaner water, healthier homes and better livelihoods.
We are transforming water services in the Egyptian city of Fayoum.
Supported by the European Union (EU) and European Investment Bank, this project is connecting dozens of rural communities to modern sanitation networks, bringing cleaner water and creating healthier homes and better livelihoods.
Through the construction and rehabilitation of 12 wastewater treatment plants and the procurement of 28 evacuation trucks to serve remote areas, more than 80 per cent of rural Fayoum will be connected to safe wastewater systems.
We are also improving the water quality of Lake Qarun, Egypt’s third-largest lake, and by 2026, 44 more villages will have access to reliable sanitation services, reducing pollution and supporting sustainable development for thousands of families.
