Upgraded water infrastructure is delivering reliable, safe drinking water to communities across Banja Luka
Thousands of families in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, are gaining access to safe drinking water thanks to the city’s upgraded water supply network supported by the EBRD and the European Union. With 65 km of new pipelines and modern pump stations, 17,000 new users, mainly in rural areas, who have struggled for years with unstable water supply, can now enjoy improved water quality and daily life.
Supporting access to clean drinking water across the country has been one of the EBRD’s priorities. Together with donors, the Bank has supported similar projects in other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina including Gradacac, Brcko and Sarajevo.
