Boosting competitiveness of pomegranates in Jordan

Author: Dima Hamdallah

At the Kufrsoum Cooperative of Pomegranate Producers, over 500 farmers are preserving a legacy passed down through generations.

With 200 acres of orchards and 50,000+ pomegranate trees, they produce high-quality pomegranate products while offering visitors a chance to experience farming firsthand.

From picking pomegranates to savoring traditional foods, these agritourism experiences help support local livelihoods and connect communities to the land.

Together with FAO, the European Union and the SEMED Multi-Donor Account, we’re helping keep this vibrant tradition alive.
