Author: Jonathan Wells

Sir Suma Chakrabarti ends second term on 2nd July.

In his last interview as EBRD President, Sir Suma Chakrabarti has stressed how the EBRD is in a strong position to deliver the ambitious international development agenda.

“The EBRD is the indispensable multilateral development bank,” he told Jonathan Charles, EBRD MD for Communications.

“We've moved to sustainable development goals. We know that those can't be delivered without private finance and private sector delivery. Well, what does the EBRD do? The EBRD does private sector finance and delivery.”

Sir Suma Chakrabarti has served as EBRD President from 2012 to 2020.

The conversation was filmed in accordance with the UK’s social distancing rules.
