Milica Delević has been appointed Secretary General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). She succeeds Kazuhiko Koguchi, who will be retiring from the Bank later this year. Ms Delević will assume her new position on 1 August.
She will be responsible for promoting the Bank’s mission among its members and international institutions, as well as overseeing the EBRD’s Annual Meeting.
As a member of the EBRD’s Executive Committee, Ms Delević will work closely with the President, the Board of Governors and the Board of Directors.
EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso said: “I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Milica Delević, who will support me and the Bank in fulfilling our mandate and delivering real impact. I would also like to express my deep gratitude to Kazuhiko Koguchi for his outstanding leadership and guidance as the Bank’s Secretary General over the last four years.”
Ms Delević is currently Director of Competitiveness, Governance and Political Affairs at the EBRD. She has held senior roles at the Bank for more than 10 years, having joined the EBRD as Deputy Secretary General, Shareholder Relations in 2013 before moving to the Policy and Partnerships Vice Presidency in 2016.
Prior to joining the EBRD, Ms Delević, a Serbian national, had a long career working in the Serbian government, academia and civil society.
