EBRD to welcome Greg Guyett as First Vice President and Head of Client Services Group

He will take up his new role on 1 September 2025

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has appointed Greg Guyett as its new First Vice President and Head of Client Services Group.

Mr Guyett will take up his position on 1 September 2025. He succeeds Jürgen Rigterink, who joined the Bank in the same role in 2018.

As First Vice President and Head of Client Services Group, Mr Guyett will lead the teams responsible for all banking, advisory and policy activities, supporting the goal of strengthening market economies in the countries where it works. In 2024, the EBRD reported banking investments of €16.6 billion.

An American national, Mr Guyett joins the Bank following seven years at HSBC Holdings plc, where he currently serves as the Chair of the Strategic Clients Group. Prior to this, he was the London-based Chief Executive Officer of Global Banking and Markets and a member of the Group Executive Committee.

Mr Guyett also spent 30 years at J.P. Morgan where he held a variety of senior roles including running global businesses as well as serving as a regional and country CEO.

EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso said: “I am delighted to welcome Greg to the EBRD. He will bring significant experience and gravitas to the role through his extensive leadership experience in the private sector and across global markets.

“As the EBRD enters its next chapter and invests in new regions, it is crucial that we have skilled leaders like Greg who can drive our strategic priorities forward and deliver impact for our partners and clients.”

“I am excited to join EBRD and work with Odile and the rest of the leadership to help deliver prosperity in countries of operations,” said Mr Guyett.

Mr Guyett will also be a member of the EBRD’s Executive Committee, the Bank’s senior management team.
