EBRD Vice President Mark Bowman visits Egypt

The EBRD’s Vice President for Policy and Partnerships, Mark Bowman, is visiting Egypt from 19 to 22 February for high-level meetings with government officials and members of the business community.

During his trip, Mr Bowman will meet Minister of International Cooperation and EBRD Governor for Egypt Rania Al-Mashat and Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla, as well as high-level officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

Mr Bowman will also meet with members of the business community and EBRD clients.

Ahead of the visit, Mr Bowman said: “The EBRD is committed to supporting Egypt through finance and policy dialogue to help promote a green, sustainable and inclusive economy. We commend Egypt on the progress it has made on the energy pillar of the Nexus on Water, Food and Energy platform, on which we’ve been working with the authorities and the private sector.”

The EBRD delegation includes Heike Harmgart, EBRD Managing Director for the southern and eastern Mediterranean (SEMED) region, Khalid Hamza, EBRD Head of Egypt, and Hamza al Assad, EBRD Head of Climate Strategy and Regional Delivery in the SEMED region.

Egypt is a founding member of the EBRD. Since the start of its operations there in 2012, the Bank has invested more than €11.5 billion in 174 projects across the country.
