Longevity, technology and the future of work in versatile economies

A growing number of countries face rapid population ageing, while other economies with young populations struggle to create good jobs for the many entrants into their labour markets. In both young and ageing economies, people are expected to work for longer than previous generations. As demographic shifts reshape societies, how should policymakers, financial institutions and companies respond? How can financial institutions direct capital toward society’s changing needs? How do we prepare workers for green and digital transitions and leverage the potential of AI while leaving no one behind? And if we are working for longer, how can we keep learning throughout our careers? We will discuss the latest demographic trends, policy enablers, partnerships, and instruments that can mobilise private investment and build resilient, inclusive and green financial systems for an era of longer lives and rapid technological change.
