Beyond algorithms: the evolution of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence is advancing at an unprecedented pace, transforming the world as we move from narrow, task‑bound systems towards general intelligence. Behind this evolution are technologies – from machine learning and deep learning to natural language processing, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and agentic systems – now embedded in everyday tools and business processes, often operating quietly in the background. Yet rapid progress brings challenges, including questions of control, long-term risk and alignment with human values. As computing continues to shrink from massive machines to pocket-sized devices, and as GenAI intersects with emerging Web3 technologies, we stand on the edge of a new technological era. This conversation explores not only the business opportunities already enhanced by AI, but the future: what roles we entrust to machines, what we expect from AI and how an ethical, human‑centred approach can guide the path forward.

This event is organised by our flagship sponsor, Ardshinbank.
