Project Description
The EBRD is considering providing € 10 million senior loan and € 10million subordinated loan to ProCredit Bank Serbia The operations will support ProCredit Bank Serbia at maintaining its leading position in the Serbian market for lending to micro enterprises and SMEs, and will support its capital base.
Transition Impact
Transition impact will be achieved by ensuring that ProCredit Bank Serbia continues to have access to credit of appropriate tenor to support domestic MSEs, as ProCredit Bank Serbia remains the principal specialised provider of financial services to Serbian MSEs.
The Client
ProCredit Bank Serbia is specialised in lending to micro enterprises and SMEs in Serbia. It was established in 2001 as a licensed bank under the supervision of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) by EBRD, KfW, FMO, IFC, Commerzbank, and ProCredit Holding (PCH, formerly IMI). Today, Commerzbank holds 16.7% with PCH holding the remaining shares. In June 2008 PCH took over the EBRD’s stake in ProCredit Bank Serbia.

The ProCredit Bank Serbia has been EBRD's client and it has provided satisfactory annual report to the Bank since 2002. ProCredit Bank Serbia is required to comply with the EBRD's Environmental and Social Policy Performance Requirements PRs 2 and PR9. The bank should require that its clients comply with national and EU environmental, OHS standards and national labour laws. The bank is also required to adhere to the EBRD's Environmental and Social Exclusion and Referral lists, and submit annual environmental, social, occupational health and safety reports to the Bank.
