Fostering tourism in Georgia

Author: Nina Tsintsadze

Georgia is an emerging tourist hotspot.

In 2017 alone, international arrivals in Georgia reached nearly 8 million – roughly double the country’s population.

The tourism sector now accounts for about 8 per cent of GDP. The country is among 5 fastest growing tourist destinations in the world. The EBRD and the European Union help local companies to seize the spotlight and business opportunities.
