EBRD and donors support better municipal services in Khujand

The EBRD is part of an international effort to fund the rehabilitation of water systems in Khujand, the second largest city in Tajikistan.

Old pipes and pumps have been replaced and new water meters installed, guaranteeing safe water for the city’s whole population.

Similar initiatives are underway across Tajikistan and other countries in Central Asia.

The project is supported by Switzerland, Norway and the EBRD Early Transition Countries Fund (Canada, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taipei China and the United Kingdom).
