The EBRD’s Board of Directors has approved the reappointment of Varel Freeman as First Vice President, Banking.
Mr Freeman joined the EBRD as First Vice President in June, 2006. His current term expires at the end of May this year and will be extended until the end of February 2013.
Commenting on the reappointment, President Mirow said, “Mr Freeman has met the challenges of his Banking responsibilities with great distinction, notably in response to the financial crisis.”
As First Vice President, Mr Freeman oversees all of the banking operations of the EBRD. Before joining the EBRD, he had had extensive emerging market experience in both the private and public sector.
