An employee of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is under investigation by the City of London Police in connection with suspected criminal activities and was questioned by the Police on Friday 26 February. The investigation was initiated following a referral to the Police by the Bank.
The employee is involved in the Bank’s investment activities. The EBRD is conducting a comprehensive internal review of the matter.
The Bank is providing all necessary assistance to the law enforcement authorities in their investigation. All enquiries regarding this investigation should be directed to the City of London Police.
