The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso will visit Montenegro from 12 to 14 February 2024. This will be her first visit to the country.
President Renaud-Basso said: “I am very much looking forward to visiting Montenegro, a country where since its independence, the Bank has already achieved some remarkable results. Montenegro is an important investment destination for us, one where we have already invested more than €800 million through 86 projects. Last year alone, the Bank invested €80 million in Montenegro and mobilised €25 million to support public and private investments”
“During my visit, I will reiterate our unwavering support for the country and the implementation of reforms and necessary investments towards EU accession in line with EBRD’s strategic priorities such as its green transition agenda, private-sector capacity and connectivity, including cross-border transport, energy and digital links.”
The President will hold high-level meetings with Montenegro’s government and president. Among others, she will also meet civil society representatives and existing clients from the private sector, including local banks, to discuss further support for the private sector. The President will also discuss the green transition with public-sector partners at the country’s state utility company, EPCG.
