One woman’s business, many women’s futures

Author: Nina Tsintsadze

With the right support, small businesses can open doors for women and drive lasting local impact.

At Harmonia Garden in Garni, Armenia, Gohar Barseghyan has created more than a guesthouse. She has built a welcoming space rooted in sustainability, community and opportunity, especially for women.

What began as a personal vision has grown into a small business that supports local employment, skills development and women’s economic participation in the region. Through Harmonia Garden, Gohar works closely with women in her community, creating jobs and encouraging them to turn their talents into sustainable livelihoods.

Gohar is one of more than 7,000 women entrepreneurs supported in Armenia since 2014 through the Women in Business programme. Her story shows how access to finance, business advice and tailored support can help women grow their enterprises, strengthen their communities and contribute to long-term economic resilience.

This video highlights how targeted support can translate into real, lasting impact, not only for individual entrepreneurs, but for families and communities across Armenia.

Supported by the European Union (EU), in partnership with ACBA Bank.
