An investment in SPE AIF I (the "Fund"), a private equity fund targeting primarily small and lower mid-cap companies in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia.
The Fund will seek to achieve long-term capital growth by making equity and quasi-equity investments in companies with typical enterprise values between USD 30 to 80 million.
The project will contribute to increasing the availability of private equity capital in SEMED which will strengthen the resilience of the financial sector and help promote private and entrepreneurial initiatives. Additionally, the Fund is expected to increase the competitiveness of its portfolio companies.
SPE CAPITAL GP LIMITED
The Fund will be managed by SPE Capital GP Limited.

An equity commitment of up to USD 20 million.
Total Project Cost
The Fund is targeting total commitments of USD 200 million.
Environmental and Social Summary
Categorised FI: (ESP 2014). The Fund will be required to comply with EBRD's Performance Requirements 2, 4 and 9, adopt and implement EBRD Environmental and Social Procedures for
Active Equity Funds and submit Annual Environmental and Social Reports to the Bank.
