Environmental Impact
The project was screened C/1. An Environmental Audit of Aviastar, the aircraft manufacturer, has been carried out by international consultants. The investigations showed that Aviastar is generally in compliance with relevant Russian EHS regulations and that there are no known areas of soil and groundwater contamination at or near the site. The investigations also confirmed that the new aircraft has been designed to meet international (ICAO and Joint Civil Aviation Authorities) standards for aircraft noise and engine emissions. Based on the findings of the Audit, an Environmental Action Plan (EAP) has been developed.
