The EBRD is considering a US$ 4 million loan to Bericap Kazakhstan LLC, a plastic container tops producer. The proposed loan will support the Company’s expansion plan through financing of a new warehouse facility and the purchase of new equipment: injection and other supplementary machinery for the production of new generation closure caps.

The activities of the Company may be associated with some limited environmental and occupational health and safety impacts but these have been identified and are being managed by the Company. An Environmental and Social Action Plan was agreed in the context of the previous projects with the Company and the Company was implementing that plan and providing satisfactory environmental and social reporting to the Bank. The Company has been requested to provide an update to the Bank on environmental and social issues and the Bank will decide on the basis of that update whether a revised ESAP will need to be agreed with the Company.
