Managing Director, Infrastructure

Jean-Patrick Marquet was the Managing Director for Infrastructure at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) until the end of 2018.

 

He led the EBRD’s engagement in infrastructure projects in 37 economies across three continents, with a particular focus on encouraging a greater role for private investment in the sector.

Mr Marquet managed a portfolio of €11 billion spread across over 450 active projects in a diverse range of sectors, including rail, roads, urban transport, water and wastewater, ports, logistics, airports, district heating and cooling, facilities management and solid waste.

A French national, Mr Marquet joined the EBRD in 2001 in the Natural Resources team developing oil & gas and mining investments from London. In 2008 he was appointed Director of the Municipal and Environmental Infrastructure team, which is part of the Bank’s Infrastructure group. In 2015 he became Managing Director for Turkey, where he had been based until late 2017.

Before joining the EBRD, he was a project finance banker at Crédit Agricole CIB (formerly known as Crédit Lyonnais) in Paris and London, successively focusing on the property, mining & metals and infrastructure sectors.

Mr Marquet’s academic background includes a Master in Management from HEC Paris school of management and a Master of Law from the Assas law school at Panthéon-Sorbonne university in Paris.
