Supporting the sustainable production of clothing

By Olga Aristeidou

EBRD and donors help Moroccan SME Neodenim go greener and save costs

Fast fashion has a major impact on the environment, so textile businesses are looking for ways to make the production of clothing greener. One of them, Neodenim, a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) based in Morocco, has managed to make quality clothes in a more energy-efficient way, thanks to the installation of new machines it purchased with the EBRD’s support.

The company is now able to dye and dry clothes while reducing energy, water and chemical consumption, making the production of garments more sustainable and safer for both their employees and customers.

This investment is part of the Bank’s Green Value Chain programme in Morocco, funded by the European Union (EU), the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Republic of Korea. The programme provides funding to local partner financial institutions for on-lending to Moroccan SMEs.
