With over 30 years’ experience investing in funds, our general partners view us as a dedicated source of capital and provider of strategic advice, with deep knowledge of the regions we work in. We act as an anchor investor for fund managers seeking to raise capital, and participate on the advisory committees of all funds in which we have made investments. Many of the fund managers we have supported over the years have raised consecutive follow-on funds, becoming successful franchises.
Criteria for investing in fund managers
The EBRD views the fund managers with whom we invest in as long-term partners. We seek to invest in commercially viable funds with the ability to engage private investors, the potential to generate attractive returns, and which operate with a strong ESG framework. We maintain an open door policy towards new relationships, whether these are fund managers with a long track-record or first-time teams.
Our investment strategy
We invest in managers operating in all areas of private markets including buyout, growth, venture capital, real assets, mezzanine and private debt. We also have a strong focus on strategies aligned with EBRD policy priorities around inclusiveness and gender equality, the green energy transition, and digitalisation.
