You are invited to join the “Climate Strategy & Delivery” (CSD) and “Impact” teams of the Bank for the standalone EBRD Policy Academy Session on “Low-Carbon Hydrogen in the EBRD Region”.
Low-carbon hydrogen (and its derivatives) will be key solutions on the way to net zero emissions, especially for “hard-to-decarbonise” sectors. Although the technology is fast reaching maturity, the hydrogen market is still at its infancy. Matching demand and supply, including via international trade, will be important in order to quickly “ramp-up” the use of renewable hydrogen.
The EBRD Region can produce low-carbon hydrogen to support local decarbonisation but also can provide cost-competitive renewable-based fuels to high-demand regions like the European Union.
For the last two years the EBRD has been involved in the development of renewable hydrogen in our Countries of Operations through technical assistance work, policy dialogue, and project financing.
This EBRD Policy Academy Session will share some of the findings of this work, and will discuss the potential of, and barriers to, the emergence of a renewable hydrogen economy.
You will have the chance to learn from the knowledge of leading experts from the European Commission, the Port of Rotterdam and SNAM; these lecturers will be sharing their best practice & global insights.
