Project description
The planned project is the Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm and connection infrastructure, which consists of 76 wind turbines, up to 120 km of cable routes and 2 offshore substations, located 28 km north of the Polish coastline, at the level of Choczewo and Łeba within the boundaries of the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone. The purpose of the planned project is to generate electricity using a renewable energy source – wind – with a total installed capacity of 1.14GW.
The borrower is Baltic Power Sp. z o.o., a special purpose vehicle (“SPV”) incorporated in Poland, 51% owned by PKN ORLEN S.A. (“Orlen”), the Polish utility, and 49% owned by Northland Power (“NP”), a Canadian independent power producer with experience in offshore wind.
