Given the ongoing climate and food security crisis, the agri-food sector in Central Asia must avail of all opportunities to develop and contribute to global value chains, but with consideration for its distinctiveness and comparative advantages.

Digital technologies can drive the “green revolution”, boost efficiency and reconcile productivity with sustainability. Innovative solutions across the sector are plentiful: precision agriculture technologies, controlled-environment agriculture, nature-based solutions and biodiversity approaches. However, many companies have yet to apply new technologies in their businesses.

How can economies embrace the transformation and capitalise on the greening of agribusiness? What does the private sector in Central Asia – both local and foreign companies – think about these issues? How can governments create a conducive environment for investment in a sector that is crucial to the economy? This panel will provide useful insights into agribusiness in the region and help answer some questions.
