Raising awareness of the benefits of eco-tourism
Tourism helps open up the beauty of Albania to its own citizens and the wider world. It also brings many opportunities for the local economy: additional income, more business and new jobs.
However, it can also bring several challenges; local economies need proper infrastructure, including safer roads, as well as better education and training on sustainable tourism and environmental protection.
The EBRD and Italy through the Central European Initiative (CEI), in partnership with the Albanian Development Fund, work to provide new opportunities to women and men in the tourism sector.
