Managing Director, Deputy General Counsel
Christoph Sicking leads the operational department of the Office of the General Counsel, which supports EBRD’s operations across its regions. He also oversees the team of lawyers dedicated to EBRD’s corporate recovery and work-out matters.
A German and French national, Mr. Sicking joined the Office of the General Counsel in 2000, and became Assistant General Counsel in 2015. Prior to joining EBRD, Christoph worked at corporate law firm Hunton Andrews Kurth in New York, specialising in cross-border asset finance, and before that in the non-profit sector in Canada.
Mr. Sicking is the chair of the International Committee of the Law Society of England and Wales and editor-in-chief of the Intergovernmental In-house Counsel Law Journal.
Mr. Sicking is a German and French national. He holds a degree in political science from Simon Fraser University (Canada), and degrees in both common and civil law from McGill University (Canada).
