EBRD and CIL help companies lease equipment and expand their business

How does the process of canning fish work? Which equipment is needed? How does a company specialising in tuna and sardine products operate?

El Hana produces the highly popular Sidi Jabeur brand and makes 1,500 tonnes of canned tuna and 1,200 tonnes of sardines each year. The company decided to lease its freezers, vehicles and other equipment.

Several hundred companies in Tunisia have benefited from an investment from the EBRD with leasing operator Compagnie Internationale de Leasing (CIL). The project was supported by the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean Multi-Donor Account, to which Australia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, SpainSweden, Taipei China and the United Kingdom contribute.
