Public invited to comment on drafts and attend consultations
The EBRD has disclosed revised drafts of its good governance policies and invites the public to offer comments on these key documents.
Last year the EBRD initiated a review of three of its good governance policies: its Environment and Social Policy, Public Information Policy and Project Complaint Mechanism.
The review process entails taking into account the lessons learned from our personal experience, changes in international practice and consultation with stakeholders.
As part of this process, the EBRD is now initiating a 45-day public consultation period to seek public input before finalising the policies.
The policies available for public comment are:
- The Environment and Social Policy (ESP) guides the EBRD’s commitment to promoting “environmentally sound and sustainable development” in the full range of its investment and technical cooperation activities.
- The EBRD’s Public Information Policy (PIP) embodies the Bank’s commitment to enhance the transparency of its activities and promote good governance.
- The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the EBRD’s accountability mechanism. It provides individuals and organisations with an opportunity to have their environmental, social and public disclosure concerns about Bank-financed projects reviewed and assessed, with an aim of resolving issues among project stakeholders and ensuring the Bank’s compliance with its environmental, social and public disclosure policies.

Comments should be submitted no later than 6 March 2019. Both written submissions and participation in the public consultations may be done confidentially upon request.
