A delegation from the EBRD's Board of Directors will visit Tunisia from 22-27 October. The visit will be part of a regular series of consultations that enable EBRD Directors to better understand the priorities for the local economy and to maintain close dialogue with the authorities, civil society and the private sector.
Representatives from the Board of Directors will include:

During the visit, the EBRD Board Directors, together with Janet Heckman, the Managing Director for the southern and eastern Mediterranean (SEMED) region, and Antoine Sallé de Chou, the EBRD Head of Office in Tunisia, will meet Minister of Investment and International Cooperation and EBRD Governor, Zied Ladhari, Minister of Finance, Mohamed Ridha Chalghoum, Minister of Transport, Radhouane Ayara and Minister for Key Reforms, Taoufik Rajhi.
The EBRD delegation will also hold meetings with members of the executive committee of the Central Bank of Tunisia, members of the parliament, President of the Tunisian employers’ union UTICA, Wided Bouchamaoui, Deputy Secretary General of the Tunisian General Labour Union UGTT, Anouar Ben Kaddour, the Governor of Sfax, Slim Tissaoui, and President of the Tunisian Investment Authority, Khalil Laabidi.
The four-day visit to Tunis and Sfax will include meetings with representatives of international financial institutions, the European Union, civil society organisations, members of the business community and clients of the EBRD’s Advice for Small Business programme.
Since September 2012, when EBRD operations began in Tunisia, the Bank has invested €370 million through 25 projects in the country. Supporting the regional development of the country outside Tunis is a special priority for the Bank and the EBRD therefore opened a second office in October last year, in Sfax.
