As national governments become more complex and citizens more aware of their right to access information, there is an increasing demand for public institutions to be more open about what information they retain. In addition systems need to be put in place to enable the public to access this information quickly and easily. This edition focuses on access to information and the key role being played by civil society and international organisations to challenge these issues.
