The EBRD is considering a long-term loan of up to € 25 million to - Servolux CJSC and OJSC Smolevichi Broiler Factory (the "Companies"), broiler poultry production facilities located in Minsk and Mogilev regions correspondingly.
The loan will finance the Companies' capital investments aimed at modernisation of its facilities, including the construction of a modern waste water treatment facility and animal waste recycling, the implementation of certain resource efficiency measures and partial balance sheet restructuring (the "Project").
The Project's transition impact is expected to derive from: more widespread private ownership; and setting standards for corporate governance and business conduct.
OJSC Smolevichi Broiler Factory and CJSC Servolux, joint stock companies incorporated in the Republic of Belarus, are subsidiaries of Belarusian VServolux Group, leading private branded poultry producer and animal feed producer also engaged in meat processing, dairy products manufacturing and food retail trade in Belarus (the "Group").

Categorised B under the 2014 Environmental and Social Policy. The EBRD financed project focuses on modernisation of several existing auxiliary facilities and boilers which will lead to improvements in energy and resource efficiency, reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and better environmental standards in waste management and wastewater treatment. Environmental and social due diligence (ESDD) is currently ongoing, it included a site visit by ESD specialists and confirmed that the project will not require any significant land acquisition or displacement and is not expected to involve any environmentally sensitive operations.
The Company operations are managed well and only a few issues will need to be improved for the project to reach the full compliance with EBRD PRs. An Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) will be agreed with the Company for project implementation.
