Project Description

Proposed financing of the growth of the Company as part of its expansion in Russia at its production facility for food packaging material.
The Company’s business has now grown to the point at which the Sponsor wishes to increase the level of external funding. The requirement for a corporate loan facility reflects the business’s planned growth and working capital consumption.

Transition Impact

The Project will enable a leading food-packaging manufacturer to maintain expansion in a growing and dynamic market thus making a contribution to the market development as well as providing a model to other companies in the sector.

The Client

The Company has been in Russia since 1994 and has built up its operations, including paper cup rigid plastic packaging manufacturing, to become a market leader in Russia.
A leading global packaging company based in Finland, Huhtamaki Oyj is solely focused on consumer packaging. Huhtamaki operates over 70 factories in 35 countries world-wide and has 16,000 employees.

A corporate loan facility of up to € 12.5 million.

Environmental Impact

The Project has been classified C/1. An environmental audit of the existing facilities and operations is being carried out. The Company is committed to complying with relevant Russian environmental, health and safety standards and also plans to implement corporate programmes covering environmental management, hygiene, health and safety.
