Project evaluation at the Bank involves the following:

An ex-post self-assessment by operation teams of all Bank projects (18 months or more after project completion)

EvD review of all self-assessments

EvD conducts around seven desk-based validations of selected self assessed projects each year

EvD conducts around three in depth operation evaluations of selected self assessed projects each year
Results from EvD project evaluations are published in the Annual Evaluation Review.
Selection of topics for special studies is done on the basis of requests from the Board, Management and through EvD’s independent review of the Bank’s work to both inform shareholders and assist with development of new strategies and policies.
