Purpose of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessments
EBRD is considering providing loan financing to Avrasya Tüneli İşletme İnşaat ve Yatirim Anonim Şirketi (“ATAS”), a special purpose company established by the Turkey Korea Joint Venture consortium, the preferred bidder competitively selected by the Turkish Government to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Istanbul Strait Road Tube Crossing (the “Eurasia Tunnel”). The Project key purpose is to address the growing traffic congestion in the Istanbul region.
