Purpose of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessments

The EBRD is considering providing financing to EDP Renovavies (referred to as EDPR or the "Developer") for the development and operation of the 11 turbine, 33 MWe Sarichioi wind farm (Dobrogea region) and the 12 turbine, 24 MWe Vutcani (Moldova region) wind farm in Romania. The wind farms where commissioned in March (Sarichioi) and May (Vutcani) 2012 respectively.

EDPR is the world’s third largest wind energy company with installed capacity of 7,483 MW at year-end 2011 and another 375 MW under construction. EDPR has an active presence in eight European countries (Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Poland, Italy, UK and Romania), United States (43% of EDPR’s installed capacity) and Brazil.
