Purpose of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessments

The EBRD is considering proving up to EUR 30 million long-term loan to Keskinoglu. Keskinoğlu is the largest Turkish egg producer as well as a leading poultry meat producer in Turkey. The Company, located in Akhisar (near Izmir), is 100%-owned by the Keskinoğlu family and currently employs ca. 3,200 people.

The Loan is intended to partially finance Keskinoğlu’s 2011 and 2012 investment programme. The Project will support the Company’s capacity expansion programme including construction of a cold storage warehouse with a carton freezer unit and logistic centre, a new layer farm/egg production facility, new breeding facility, expansion of hatchery, egg pasteurisation and incubation as well as instalment of cogeneration unit and 10,000 pallet capacity and a new manure drying system.
